Crowdfunding University
First time running an equity crowdfunding campaign? Want to make it a success? Well pack your lunch cos it’s back to the books.
Background
We've helped over 40 organisations run successful equity crowdfunding campaigns in New Zealand and Australia.
While every company is different, there are a lot of common areas where they need guidance and support. With our experience, and feedback from our crowd of campaigners, we've pulled together the CrowdfundingU programme to help companies equity crowdfund.
Whether you’re a company wanting to raise a million dollars and make a media splash or just want to do a private friends & family round, CrowdfundingU can help ready your business to more effectively communicate what you’re up to.
The Programme
There are two versions of the programme:
1. Small Campaigns
Small campaigns: this is a two-session course covering your plan and your pitch. You will learn the basics needed to run a successful equity campaign.
2. Large Campaigns
Large campaigns (aiming to raise over AU$100,000): this is a six-session programme for you and your team to prepare a comprehensive capital raising plan.
Programme Outline
Small Equity Campaign
Plan - this session is all about your Comms Plan - how will you get out to your crowd? What are your key messages? Who are your main audiences? What is the timeline from now til launch, and after?
Pitch - now that you have a plan to communicate, you need to prepare your pitch! Your offer document will be a key source of information for all investors. We’ll run you through what needs to be included, review existing documents, and help you get started on writing it.
Programme Outine
Large Equity Campaign ( > AU$100,000)
Prepare - in this session we’ll run through how equity crowdfunding works, best practice, lessons from campaigns that didn’t work, run through your team (and what you need), and identify who is in your crowd.
Pitch Kitchen - this session is your chance to get feedback from your crowd - what do they think about your pitch? What resonates? What’s confusing? You’ll have a mix of people you know (and don’t) in the room.
Promo - in this session we’ll run through the feedback from the Pitch Kitchen. We’ll also make sure you’re ready to create a pitch video, social media posts / imagery, have a plan for your launch event, and that you’re feeling ready to hit go.
Finish - this session will make sure everything is tidied up, and the campaign is ready to launch. The content will depend on the areas you need help with (offer document, video, comms, or more).
